Living without breathing is like death without dying.

I held back for a second, drew in my breath and ran towards the business man. I wasn't sure why he was in an ally so late at night, he looked important. I didn't care, though, I was in hunt mode and so I was ready to feast.

Lying in my coffin I heard a banging at the heavy, wooden front door. To be honest this surprised me. Nobody ever comes unless its a priest who's had a bit too much to drink and is offering an exorcism.

Strangely it wasn't, a young man stood at the door. He let himself in and started speaking about how cold it was. I was very quickly loosing my temper so I grabbed his scrawny neck and lifted him up by it. He squealed, much like a girl would, and let out a strangled call for help. I let him go and he fell to floor with a faint thud. "What do you want?" I snarled. This was probably the longest I have let someone live but I was curious as to why a perfectly sober, fairly normal human being would want to come here in the dead of night. "I came to offer my assistance, I am Rufus, your new butler." It annoyed me that Id only just met him, if thats what you could call it, and he'd already decided that his presence was wanted. He walked away and was inspecting every last inch of the place I call home. "Rufus," I called " Come here." He scuttled over and so I bit into his milky white neck. "You'll be much more useful as a vampire," I whispered whispered. I grinned as he writhed on the florr in excruciating pain. Call me canabalistic but these things excite me.
