A large orderly removed Darren's handcuffs at 7.30 the following morning. He didn't speak to Darren other than to say "Be Nice!". Darren sat up in his bed and stared at his surroundings.
He noticed that another patient across from him was also sat up in bed and staring at him. Darren wondered what his problem was, his eyes were fixed on Darren's every move and Darren felt very uneasy.
He noticed that the patient was still handcuffed to his bed. Everyone else had been released from theirs. He saw the guy mouthing some words but couldn't make out what he was saying and so reluctantly, Darren climbed out of his bed and started to walk towards the patient.
Darren stopped halfway across the floor as he heard the voice and words being said. "death, death, death" came the gurgling sounds from the patients throat.
"GET AWAY FROM HIM!" Dr Peterson shouted from across the room. Darren stood there in shock, staring at the Prince's new host. It took the orderly's strong grip to pull him back towards his bed. "Do what your told or I'll cuff you up again" the orderly whispered into Darren's ear.
Darren wondered how and why the Prince had left him and entered somebody else. As he was sat on his bed, an elderly patient shuffled over to Darren's side. "I saw it!" he said. "I saw the smoke, I saw the demon!"
Dr Peterson approached. "that's the driver of the car that hit you" he said. "when the police arrived at your accident, he was about to finish you off with a crowbar. The police only just managed to stop him, otherwise you wouldn't be here".
Darren just stared at the patient in disbelief. The Prince wanted Darren dead. "but why?". "why go to all of the trouble of the hauntings, the clues and the possession, only to kill him?".
When the Dr walked away, the old patient approached Darren again. "it came out of him last night" he said. "I saw it, it was like it was searching for something, someone!". "what are you saying?" Darren asked. "are you saying it left him and then went back into him?". "I saw it with my own eyes" he said.
