She looks in the mirror and asks herself every day,
Is she beautiful?
A joke or a comment about her image,
Stains the white canvas in her mind.
And then she wonders,
Is she thin enough?
Is she tall enough?
Is she worthy?
The words clutter her mind. They confuse her.
They suffocate her, wrapping themselves around her body,
whispering harshly into her ears.
She prays for the voices to stop.
They make her almost crazy.
She looks in the mirror. Begs and pleads.
That one day she will be good enough.
That one day she will be beautiful.
