So well do I remember those lazy summer days,
We'd light a campfire by the sea,
To watch the crimson sunset beside that roaring blaze,
Nothing ever made me feel so free.
So well do I remember the songs we used to play,
When we had the time enough to kill.
Now the times are changing, old friends have gone away,
But in my heart that fire's burning still.
So here I am performing,
Just a shadow on a stage,
Just another actor in a play,
But with each brand new morning comes the turning of a page,
I know I'll find my way back home someday.
'Cause life is but a journey,
One day I'll reach the end,
When my sands of time no longer flow.
Then you won't see my face again, my friend.
I'm going where the winds of change don't blow.
