Chapter 12
Matt was now repeatedly punching James in the face. I jumped up and ran to where Matt and James stood. I stepped in front of them and held my between them.
"Stop it now." I said with a 'don't mess with me' tone. I had experience with these kind of things because Jace did occasionally get into fights. The two boys looked at me and then stopped. I looked at James with his bloody nose and split lip. Then I looked at Matt with his broken hand and ruffed up tee-shirt.
"James, go outside for a minute. I'll see you in a bit." James looked at his brother and gave me an incredulous look but he still went. Matt stayed exactly where he was so I pushed him gently onto a chair. I got a few bandages and sat on the floor in front of him. Matt sat deep in thought, until I said "why did you act like that?"
