I was aware that trains had buffet coaches, of course, but I'd never thought of them as mobile pubs with beer etc. (when I say beer, I mean over priced canned lager, cider, bitter or small bottle of wine if it's Christmas or some other day of celebration).
The reason for this change in perspective is that I now commute to work every day, by train. It's a long journey, with an early start and a late finish, involving a four train, four hour round trip. I have driven to work once, the misery of the m40/M25 and the price of fuel literally drove me into the waiting carriages of First Great Western and Southeastern Railways.
I actually enjoy this journey; I can play with my toys (iPhone, iPad), scribble in my sketch book, make new friends (occasionally) and every Friday, to celebrate the end of the working week, I treat myself to a little drinkypoo in the Train Pub. It'll be can of coldish Carlsberg today. Mmm.
