I have decided to post this poem to raise awareness of the soldiers away fighting to keep our countries free. I am English but this poem was written by an American soldier, and I believe it to be a huge inspiration and an example of the wonderful service men and women out there fighting today for their countries. Please remember this is not my work, but that of someone else's which I found truly inspiring:
If I die in a war zone, Box me up and send me home, Put my medals on my chest, Tell my mom I did my best, Tell my day not to bow, He won't get tension from me now, Tell my brother to study perfectly, Keys of my bike will be his permanently, Tell my sis not to be upset, Her bro will not rise after this sunset, Tell my love not to cry, For I am a soldier, born to die.
Thank you for reading and please pay your respects to those who fight, those who have survived and those who have died.
