He looked into her shocking blue eyes, framed with long black lashes. He knew she was dying.
"Belle-Rose?" He asked.
"Yes?" Came the weak reply.
"Its going to be alright."
"Yeah, sure, Manny."
"Fine." He pouted.
"You've just got to accept that I'm dying and everything happens for a reason."
"But you're my best friend. It took me ages to find you and I can't lose you." His piercing green eyes filled with tears.
"Manny? Can I tell you something?" She asked in a weak voice, and he felt her slipping away.
"Yes? Anything."
"I-I love you. More than anything else in my world. In fact, you are my world."
And in the moment that passed then, she lost her battle against cervical cancer. Tears flowed down his cheeks.
"Oh, Belle-Rose, I love you too." His tears splashed onto her blank face and he bent down and kissed her.
