Do you ever notice that you're accidentally following someone as you walk home in the half-light haze of the evening sky?

Do you ever continue to follow them, just to see where they go?

Do you ever flick your hood up even though there is no rain, just to scare them a little? Just for fun?

Do you ever match their speed as their walking pace quickens?

Do you ever smile as their heightened senses fuel their paranoia?

Do you ever flick your car keys as though they were a penknife, letting the moonlight catch the shimmering metal?

Do you ever draw closer to them, shuffling your feet along the concrete path as you close in fast?

Do you ever reach your gloved hand out to their shoulder, gripping hard on their tensed muscles?

Do you ever grab their mouth as they scream and thrash about, your eyes aglow with the thrill?

Do you ever plunge the open keys straight into their neck and watch the blood cascade from the gaping hole?

Do you ever thrust the keys again, this time to their chest in between their ribs, and laugh in your mind as their body slowly loosens?

Do you ever simply stand there with your heart pounding, holding their limp body in your arms, feeling the warm liquid pouring over your skin and their slowing pulse in your finger tips?

Do you ever close their dying eyes as they draw their final breath?

Do you ever lay them carefully on the path, the radiant glisten of deep red spattered across their moonlit torso?

Do you ever kneel in the pools of blood and mutter a restful prayer?

Do you ever then just walk away?

No?

Me neither...
