Reesa moved through the shadows of the forest in silence. She became a part of the twilit scene, following the silhouettes ahead. At her side, Jay, her wolf kept quiet with his leisurely gait. His shoulder blades moved gracefully as he loped companionably alongside Reesa. The winding trail of the forest was reaching its end, and Reesa slowed. Beside her, Jay hunkered down in the reeds, prepared to wait on his mistress as she went about her spying. Reesa watched the crowd of figures move into a clearing. There were about five in all; hooded and sitting in a misshapen circle. One of the figures rise and shook their hood off. A mass of chocolate curls followed the movement and Reesa found herself watching the movements of her older stepsister, Aimee. Aimee danced around the group, swaying in a mesmerising movement to her own tune. Reesa returned her gaze to the rest of the group who were also moving their cowls back and joining Aimee's dance. The other four cultists were Aimee's friends Elle and Jaime, and another local boy called Grey - who usually kept to himself - and... And Reesa's best friend. Cordelia wove her way through the group as if she belonged there, orange hair bobbing at her shoulders, eyes closed. Reesa's heart squeezed in betrayal. Jay whined anxiously and pushed his muzzle into Reesa's palm affectionately. Reesa buried her hand in his thick fur and turned to leave. 'Don't. Move.' Reesa froze, fearful of her discovery. For the past two nights Reesa had been awake when Aimee had snuck from her tent. Of course it would be on the one night she herself decided to scout out that she'd be caught. A rough hand pulled Reesa to the ground and a second covered her mouth. Reesa stayed quiet. 'I'm going to take my hand away now. Don't speak or we will both be caught and probably sacrificed by your sister and her manic friends'. Reesa let out her breath as the impinging hand left her mouth. Instead of moving her eyes to her company, Reesa looked straight to Jay, who lay on the floor as he had before, head resting on front paws, ruff not looking even mildly put out. 'You are the worst excuse for a wild ever,' Reesa hissed, 'you're supposed to protect me, not let random people accost me and-' Reesa broke off when she caught sight of her company. He had dark eyes but the palest skin to contrast with them - his flesh had a translucency to it that Reesa had never seen the likes if before - he looked fragile. But at a further glance, the lines of hard muscles danced beneath the white skin and there was a strength to those eyes betraying the otherwise deceptive tones. 'I'm Connor.' He held his calloused hand out for Reesa to shake. She did so, replying with her own stammering name. 'What are you doing here, Connor?' Reesa asked plainly when she'd gathered her wits about her. 'I could ask you the same question'. Reesa sighed. 'The last few nights I saw Aimee creeping out of her bed. I had to know what was going on. Only now... I'm even more perplexed.' Connor ran a hand through his dark hair. 'Your sister is involved in something big, Reesa. Something dangerously big.' He shuddered, visibly. 'They're practising magyck. It's a dark art and it's forbidden.' Reesa gaped at him. Aimee had never liked Reesa and vice versa, but Reesa had never expected something so mad as practicing of the dark arts. Reesa gulped. 'What do we do?'
-I'm going to end it here. Because it's not very good and it's painful to write. XD
