Just one last kiss before I go? An embrace to say 'goodbye'? Another feel of skin on skin, Don't think 'what if you die...'

A final tear to shed for me, I'll fight with you at heart, I'm dreading every milli-second, That we spend apart.

A whisper: 'goodbye Daddy.' Return: 'I love you, son,' A tearful goodbye from my wife, And that goodbye is done.

We march into the sunset, Not knowing how we'll end, But know, my dearest family, 'Goodbye' was a god-send.
