I have an amazing gift, Yet one I cannot show, One that comes with burdens, And often inspires woe.
There are many of us here, Living secret lives, We must keep it from our children, Our husbands and our wives.
The secret has a choking hold, Around our every day, Yet if I do not share it now, I fear I'll lose my way.
For it has eaten me alive, Fed on endless thoughts, A parasite for all it's worth, With Death it's in cohorts.
I'm one of many in my race, Time Travellers as we're called, One day the time catches up on us, No matter how we've stalled.
It's amazing if I think it through, The life that I have lived, Details fine as powder flour, As dainty as it's sieved.
The Butterfly Effect is real, Another restraining cuff, To be a Traveller of Time, Your being must be tough.
And so I pass my legacy, Before time comes for me, I leave you with the message that: Not everything's as it see-
