This city needs a hero, And that is what I'll be, Hidden under masks and cloaks, My face: no one will see.
This city needs a hero, In a cape I'll rule the dark, Stain the sky with a bright light, Push onto black my mark.
This city needs a hero, And I'll answer to that call, When Gotham needs its hero, I shall never fall.
This city needs a hero, A man, a bat - or both, And what this city truly needs, I'll swear it in an oath.
