There was a growl within the forest, Such a hiss within those woods, And all the little girls in red, Did tighten up their hoods.

There was a sigh among the rivers, A yawn along the breezes, And all the pigs did hide in stone, To hide from bad wolves' wheezes.

There was a snarl among the corridors, The house's walls did sing, About a crystal slipper that- The prince's groom would bring!

But even as these things go on, The stories read aloud, A mother tucks a child in, Looks on, a parent, proud.

The fairytales asleep for now, She puts book on the shelf, She kisses daughter on the head, Then goes to bed herself.
