A kitten's eyes are drooping,

She's been so tired all day,

Although she's on her holidays,

Things haven't gone her way.

She's tired and slightly sickly,

Her face as pale as chalk,

And at the sight and smell of food,

Her whole demeanour balks.

Another yawn, another sigh,

A weight upon her chest,

Half-closed eyes and sagging limbs,

Blanket clutched to chest.

Clinging onto consciousness,

But soft! Her bed does call,

She cannot wait to crawl upstairs,

And into bed she'll fall.
