Dear Diary,
Hiya again. TWO WEEKS UNTIL CHRISTMAS HOLIDAYS. THANK THE LORD.
Okay, so this weekend, my Irish grandparents turn up - for anyone who doesn't know any Irish people - they're mad. Well, mine are. Anyway, here's a few COMPLETELY RANDOM non-sequiturs my grandmother came out with:
1) When Mum was knitting a hat: 'Make bobble!' ... I still don't quite understand why. She's mad.
2) 'Heather... What sort of card do you like?' Uhhh... How many types of 'card' do you get, Granny?!
3) 'It's amazing what raisins can do.' No comment on this last one. Just... No comment.
Yeah. It's always a blast and I love seeing my grandparents because they live quite a ways from us. And, of course, they are an unrivalled source of amusement.
The second thing I have to talk about is my latest conquest: The Opuss Files! So yeah, I came up with this idea in this last week or so, just thinking about getting to know our authors more. I didn't just want to explore Opuss facts - like how they crafted their opusses - but also their temperaments: who they'd pick if they had to be either Sheldon (TBBT) or Justin Bieber for a day. Obviously the answer is Sheldon, by the way. It's good to see that people are enjoying them, too! I interview Opussians mostly through kik, which isn't easy if I don't know their kik addresses. That's why it's good if their kik addresses are on their bios. But oh well. Much more to come on that front, hopefully!
Finally. My best-friend skills have been super-tested this week. For those of you who don't know, my best friend is a guy. He's called Will, and this week he broke up with his long-term girlfriend. I had to use all my best tricks, cheering him up. I even let him laugh at me, which to be fair, he does anyway. I just thought I should say that. Because I love my best friend to bits - that's kind of the point of a 'best' friend - I made sure he realised I'm there for him. Wahhhhh. Major corny moment right there. But seriously. Friendship matters. Sometimes, as humans, I think we forget to show that it does.
