I knew, facing the demon before me, that it was my time to die.

He might have been handsome at one point, but now he was a monster.

There was nothing human in those eyes.

Long, pale fangs glinted from beneath his curled lip. His parchment-white skin was creamy, his lips red. And his hair... His hair was black as early morning.

He was beautiful, but so, so ugly with monstrousness.

My spines quivered, reacting to my body's automatic fear.

Inside, however, in my head and heart, I knew my time had come.

I knew this unrecognisably twisted once-boy would murder me - as he had probably murdered many before.

A single stray tear fell down my face.

Then, he leapt.
