Creeping silently under the veil of night, I try my hardest to avoid the light.
The sun is a plague upon my skin, The clothes I wear are always too thin.
The breeze on my flesh brings me little relief, The shadows hail a smile, though brief.
I'm another slip of fading light, Just trying to live in the ebony night.
When the dawn crashes forward I stop and I stay, And I wait until dark comes and light falls away.
