Until I don my mask, I'm an ordinary girl. Not yet the super-heroine, Instead the mistook pearl.
I put it on and change inside, To my true identity. The girl who fights with gusto, Though no one knows it's me.
What people truly don't know, Is I fight every day. Because when I'm not a hero, I never get a say.
So putting on my red cape, And standing in my boots, I look along my closet, At my super-hero suits.
Every day I fight the world, An effort to be heard, But every day I'm put aside, Constantly deferred.
So maybe superheroes' times, Have finally met their match, An unknown expiration date, There always is a catch.
So up I hang my red cape, My boots, my mask, my all, And into ordinary life, As a normal girl... I fall.
