Lonely, lonely, all alone, For centuries on end, Watched the world move in and out, Of every single trend.

I've watched the sun and moon meet, I've watched the ice floes melt.

I've watched the monarchy exchange, Oh, what I have felt.

I've known the road so very long, I've wandered so, so far.

Stretched out on this concrete floor, Or wood, or mud, or tar.

Lonely, lonely, I'm alone, I've made some more like me.

But even they don't understand, Or see the earth I see.

One day I wish for a quiet end, No wandering at last.

But death does not come easily, For one who's already passed.
