Pay no mind, dear child.

Rest easy under the boughs

Of all those elevated and eloquent thoughts

That those gone before have summoned.

And sleep under the clouds

Of intellect far greater, of ideas far loftier,

Than you are able to afford.

Let the waves of greatness and dignity

Lap contentedly about your feet,

And soak up the sun of peace,

Hard won and hard fought-for by those

Far more sacrificial than I hope you ever need be.

Walk in and dwell on kindness, for it will serve you,

Even in your youth – those quick to give

are those quick to receive – so take heed.
