White light cuts a clean path through the dark forest, luring any walking being into the shadows of the thick trees. Complete silence fills the muggy, heavy air. Not a rustle of a leaf. Not a snap of a twig.

She looks around; nobody to be seen, although there is the distinct cliche sensation that someone is watching her. Her attempt to ignore the path failing, she continues to walk towards it's intense brightness.

She reaches the line where the light begins, the end of the darkness. She reaches an arm out, her fingertips skim the white. Squinting her eyes, she sees that where her ivory skin is under the light's beam, it sparkles like a billion tiny diamonds, casting dancing light movements all around the dark forest behind.

Just about to step fully into the light, a great moan bounces off the cliffs of the valley and down into the forest itself. Her head snaps round to face the forest, and she catches sight of a transparent figure which stands a few feet away. It is a white she-wolf, and her eyes are a pit of misery and fear. The wolf lets out a nervous whine. Her eyes drawn between the she-wolf and the irresistible light, her attention's fate is decided by the snap of a twig, and a prickling sensation on her hand. She looks down. The wolf stands against her, it's head beneath her skin. She starts to pull away, but the wolf whines again. Hesitantly, she replaces her hand above the wolf's head, and is taken into a distant memory of the wolf.

-The wolf walks into the path of light, no choice has been given, she simply follows nonchalantly. It is only when she reaches the depth of the light that she cannot turn back, and is trapped in an invisible barrier, but her soul released. There is no escape for her body. It will be used for other purposes, by the Dark Witch who controls all light.-

Letting out a gasp, she turns to see many other transparent creatures lingering by the edge of the forest, creatures who have had their souls stripped also. Ones who have escaped, but have failed to retrieve their bodies. If this is what the Dark Witch does to the animals, then what will her fate be?

Her feet walk her though to the path of light, but her mind is fixed on the she-wolf and the other bodiless creatures. She turns her head just before it, too, becomes a sparkle of diamonds. The she-wolf bows graciously along with every other transparent creature in the forest, knowing that she will never make it out.
