"Lauren." I heard some one whisper. "Lauren can you here me? Honey open eyes."

I felt cold. A little too cold. It smelt like soap and fresh cotton. I felt some one holding my hand and I could hear their shallow breathing.

I fluttered my eyes open and I felt the hand squeeze my hand even tighter. I heard them hold their breath.

I looked around the white room. Taking in the morning sun that shown through the cream-paneled window shade. Long rays of gold sunlight reflected off glass tubes and the silver counter top, adorned with fancy instruments.

I looked at the boy staring down at me. His brown hair was brushed to one side of his head. Making him look like a Justin Beiber with sky blue eyes that penetrated my heart.

"Hey, you're awake!"

"Where am I?" I asked in a weak voice.

"You're at the hospital. After the accident you were brought here with life threating injuries. They patched you up and you were out for at least two days."

"Oh." was all I was able to get out. What accident? What were the injuries.

"Here. Sit up. You should have a glass of water." The boy propped up my pillow and helped me sit up. He handed me a crystal clear glass of water and helped me hold it. Although it was small, it felt like a ton.

I folded back the cotton sheet.

I felt lopsided in a way. The boy looks worried and kept quiet as he took the glass and set it on the wooden table next to me. I attempted too lift up the sheet until his hand stopped me.

"Wait until the nurse comes. She'll explain."

"Explain what?"

He hesitantly took his hand away and gently turned me so I was in a position to get out of bed. I swung my legs over the side of the short bed and gasped at the horrid sight.
