I walk along the shore, Though some say it is a bore. I watch each wave, The open ocean is what I crave.

I wish to sail, And tell a seafaring tale, About what I encountered in my journey, And how I found a treasure chest's key.

How I fought a shark, And how most nights were dark. How I befriended a whale, With the help of bread that was stale. How I could hear the fury of the sea, And how I wished you missed me.

But I keep walking, And barely talking. I look at the setting sun, And realize the day is done. I pick up a delicate white shell, And I could tell, This shell came from what I crave, It rode to the beach on the crest of a wave. That originated from the open sea, Which is where I wish to be.
