I sat there, just staring out the window. I had gotten up specially for this, so I'd be prepared and wouldn't have to rush about in a panic. Well, the inevitable was soon to come, and the clock knew. It stood tall, high and mighty, as though it had a huge power me. I have to admit, it did. Tick, tock, tick, tock; the hands whirred round, mocking me in delight.
I stared at the little old lady who walked past, not a care in the world and probably didn't know the horrors that would soon envelop me. I wanted to scream, cry out, anything to get her attention. But she just walked on past, and still the clock mocked me. Tick, tock, tick, tock. I shifted uncomfortably in my seat, sweat prickling at my forhead. All of a sudden, it was time and the clock cackled with joy. I really started to panic then, I shut my eyes hoping that it wasn't real, and that I'd soon wake up from this terrible nightmare. But once I opened them, the whole weight of what I was about to do crushed me. This was it, this was the end. I stood up and walked to the door, the clock mocking me. Tick, tock, tick, tock. School, had once again begun. -L
