I'll be with you in a minute I've heard that one before As the minutes trickle by I'm looking to the door
I only wanted a little help To make sense of chemistry So I asked my lovely teacher Who said of course I'm free
Great I said, it's only two questions Nothing too hard there She said, I'll be there in a minute So I took a chair
10, 15, 20 The minutes were flying past 25, 30, 35 How long can a minute last!
40, 45, 50 And still you are not here It's been a terribly long minute I've been forgotten I fear
And suddenly you arrive With a "sorry to keep you waiting There so much work I have to do, Results that need debating!"
I explained the problem 5 minutes was all it took It seemed hardly worth the bother But I really had gotten stuck!
If your teachers say "in a minute" Take yourself a book to read For a minute of your teacher's time Is a very long minute indeed!
