Trundling along the road Under a moonlit sky I am a hedgehog, small and spiky Who wishes he could fly
You see it can be rather hard In this hedgehog life of mine Because that horrid old badger Can get past all my spines
It would eat me up, given half a chance And that's not good at all So if I could fly, I'd be free I'd really have a ball!
Moving on to the next issue Worms and beetles for my dinner They aren't exactly appetising No wonder I'm getting thinner
If I could fly, I fly straight through The doors of Mario's And feast myself on pasta dishes Forgetting lunchtime woes!
Finally and most importantly, I'd escape using the motorway It's not that safe for a little hedgehog To try and cross each day
Metal monsters roar up and down They're angry steel beasts The rubber on the creatures feet Of hedgehogs makes a feast
So yes, I wish that I had wings It would be nice to pierce the sky Although I admit, I'd look quite odd Being a hedgehog that could fly

(Rather daft little poem I wrote for my little cousin Lucy, who insisted I "put it on the paw print thing")
