So what's the view like From your mountain-top peak But actually, great pretender You shouldn't speak
You gained your heights From an old borrowed phrase And didn't give the credit When it caught people's gaze
Taking someone's words It's like stealing a soul They write with their hearts You post with a goal
You keep knocking us down But we'll keep on fighting I'm sorry but you've lost To truly original writing
We can pick up our pens And we'll win the war With vivid imaginations You can't beat the score
We are banded together As rebels we dare To stand up for the creative And show that we care
We care that our work is overlooked Because of stolen words As a sparrow I must insist You listen to the birds!
It seems strange to me That a bird can save a cat But when we band together We can achieve more than that!
So to all you weavers of worlds And allegorical fairytales Let's knock all the wind Out of unoriginal sails
There's a mutiny brewing On this very fine boat Rest assured we won't sink We're going to stay afloat
The unoriginals will be put out In a rocking lifeboat all alone Whilst all of us creative cats Safely retake the throne!
