She sat alone on those dreary days, in the back of the classroom where no one saw her or spoke with her. She'd lay her head in her palm and let her mind reel with thoughts, ideas, memories....and occasionally, dreams. There was one in particular that recurred. You see, in this institution she was forced to take part in, she was the odd one out. She took part in no extra curricular activity, no clubs, and no dances. She truly was the lone wolf of the Academy's ranks. She didn't mind though. Oh no. The girl preferred it that way. Her few attempts at trying to fit in were failed, and eventually, the need became a numb feeling that hummed in the base of her skull. That didn't stop her want to find someone like her. She knew that she was the black sheep of the school, one against many. She fantasized about someone like her, though. Someone brave and smart, creative, compassionate....and secretly, a little on the dirty side. She always smirked when that thought tickled her mind.

Her fantasy was of a boy; her age-if a bit older-with golden hair and deep hazel eyes that reminded her of caramel. He would stand up for her, be her shoulder to cry on, and her best friend. She sometimes cried because of how badly she wanted that fantasy to be real. How she swore she could almost feel his embrace. She would stop breathing, and when her lungs finally forced her to cooperate, the feeling was gone.

When she would look out the classroom window to the free and beautiful world outside, she'd see his face. The mischievous grin and flirtatious eyes that made her blush and giggle like the schoolgirl she once was. She would widen her eyes at herself, feeling crazy. She couldn't help it, it was in her nature to use her imagination. However deceiving it might be. Even when she tried to focus on something else, her mind always wandered back to the dream boy. Picturing them together as friends, or, even as she blushed about it, a couple. She'd been single all her life! Why wouldn't she think that?

She would sometimes write in her notebook the boy's name and then hers, though she knew no name for him. She was just a daydreamer.
