In a land with no shape and no depth, there lived two mighty and beautiful dragons. One was whiter than the brightest of snow, while the other was a deeper black than the farthest reaches of the oceans. They had no names, no color, and no true understanding of what they were to do in the world they lived in. That is why they were the best of friends. The white one sang to the black dragon, who in turn danced to her melodies. They loved to have fun with each other, and were like sisters. They trusted each other and told all secrets.

One day, though, the Wolf met with the black dragon, who had the most sensitive of hearts, and began weaving lies into her mind. The Wolf told the black dragon that the white dragon was more beautiful and attractive than she. This mildly infuriated the black dragon, but she kept it quiet. Even when the white dragon wanted to talk, the black one kept her jaws shut.

A day went by like this when the Wolf confronted the white dragon, who had the proudest and strongest heart than her dark counterpart. He told her that the black dragon had been telling the white one lies, lies that ended with an innocent life being lost. This seriously angered the white dragon, who flew directly to the black dragon and began roaring at her. The white dragon's bellowing caused the black one to snap, and before she knew it, she lunged for her white friend, clawing at her heart. The white dragon was torn, and by instinct, attacked the black dragon. The battle was heartbreaking and bloody, because neither dragon could forgive the other. They lie there, their hearts torn and bleeding. Their blood, which matched their own color, seeped into the grass, giving it light or darkness. The Wolf padded in between their corpses, and howled the song of their new mark on the world; of Light and Shadow.
