I remember those days, when we sat on your porch in the warm sunlight, sipping your mom's sweet tea and talking about how much we loved to draw. I remember being out in the English countryside, where cars rarely tread and deer roamed carelessly. You always wore that hair pin, the one I had bought you on your fourteenth birthday. We braided each other's hair and traded glasses, like most girls do. We laughed at each other's jokes, and reminisced about the things we both loved. I had been your friend for so long, that, I knew your scent by then. Musty and with the hint of soap and pine needles. You always wanted to be outside, and I remember when you tried to teach me how to ride a bicycle. I never truly got the hang of it, but you patiently rode beside me. I thought those days would never end.....

But then you went insane.

And your scent lingers there, in the back of my mind.
