"One two... Do you copy? I repeat, do you copy? Over." A light crumple of forest leaves rustled as Sergeant Martin threw his talkie down on the floor. The quietness of the bugs chirping under hot night air and the crackle of a camp fire were soon broken by foul language and moaning by a very pissy male. "No wonder we havn't been able to reach the others, Everything remotly technological cuts out. Fuck sake we're out here on our own and no way of contact to base." A tall fair haired man with soft shaved skin paced around the fire, cracking twigs and debris on the floor. "Look Martin you just need to calm down, were a big bunch of guys. We are trained for this. Stop worrying so much. The likelyhood is the other squad would have lost communication and ended up in the middle of nowhere." This time the peace and quiet disturbed by a younger male, very baby faced however muscle bound and tanned. Looking up to Sgt Martin with cool blue eyes and a very calm expression. This was Ryan the baby of the group, by far the youngest at only 24 years old. Despite lack of years Ryan made up in alot of experience and was looked up to as second in comand, He worked very well with Sgt Martin who was a quick thinker and had a short temper. Usually Ryan was the type to think things through for a while. The two balanced each other out perfectly and were rarely seen to be too far appart.
"You would say that though wouldn't you? It's your answer and cure for everything..." Martin muttered with a grin to his squad as they chuckled all to well knowing Ryan and Martins brother like bickering. Martin's grin particularly amused the squad, all that could really be made out was a muddy smeared mess and white teeth in the glow of the fire. Sighing softly Martin gave up and slid lazily down a large tree. Resting his M4 Automatic against the roots, far less inclinde to loose his temper with 'his baby.' "We should get some rest soon Sarge?" Perked up a squad lad, clearly exhausted fed up and grumpy. "Aye there's no point moving forward till we can see properly. We don't know what snags and snares we could find." Nodding to the men agreeing to the request they all settled for the night agreeing to the let fire now die down. The rainforest was very noisey with creatures even at night. While some of the men found the noises soothing, Martin found it all to eerie. Leaning back against the tree his green eyes traced the scene around him. The darkness just overwhelmed him, as soon as the fires light could reach no longer it was pitch black. Thick heavey leaves and trees hundreds of years old just covered above there heads. Not a single patch of sky could be seen, they were very deep in the Amazon. Groaning a little taking a swig of water from his bottle the exhaustion fell to heavey on Martin. Just like the squad he eventually closed his eyes and fell asleep....
