Under normal circumstances I would say that I'm just your everyday, run of the mill, exuberant fellow. I'm easily pleased and always excited about the next adventure. But all of that has changed. In fact, my whole world has changed... literally.

It all happened a few days ago when I got out of bed. I was late for work, forgot to set the alarm, and I poured coffee all over myself. Once in the car I realized I'd left the keys on the kitchen counter and ran back to retrieve them. On the way back to the car I tripped over a skateboard, those neighborhood kids, and scraped my palms on the concrete. I laid down on my back wondering why the world was against me when the sprinklers went off, and of course, one was facing in my direction. Soaked, sore, and frustrated, I decided that today would be a good day to call in. Going to work would probably finish me off. I stood up, and reluctantly walked back into the house to call my boss. As I reached the phone, dripping water all over the carpet, picked up the handle and dialed the number, a peculiar thing happened. The moment the cordless phone touched my ear, sparks shot out and I could feel my face begin to tingle. Soft at first but then it quickly escalated until my whole body shook from the electricity that was coursing through my body. At that moment I knew I was going to die. I tried to pull the phone away, but to no avail. I even tried to scream but my mouth just wouldn't open. Slowly, the outer parts of my vision began to close in. Little by little blackness took me until I was out.
