Rose petal kisses
On lips and cheeks,
Fragrant, soft,
Yet full of thorns,
For minutes, hours,
Days and weeks,
Rough-smooth,
A contradiction in
Every term,
Satisfying yet
Leaving me begging
Ever for more,
I can taste you still,
And I'll always know
Your touch, smell,
The dilation of pupils
In sweet green eyes,
The fall of dishevelled hair
Along your brow line,
A tangle of limbs, arms, legs,
My hand in yours, yours in mine,
Smile on smile,
As we put the world to rights,
Even though mines more
Askew than ever before.
