I take you:
A flash of white and black
As discarded livery falls
To the deep-piled, carpeted floors,
The ice of your eyes
Melting, finally, twisted lips
Leaving malice behind
And speaking love
Through kisses and smiles
I never thought possible,
A laugh, usually reserved for
Snide cutting comments
And sarcasm
Finds its way between us,
Genuine, earnest,
More whole than either of us
Have ever been,
As hands and arms and legs and tongues
Dance an impossible waltz,
To an unspeakable tune,
And no one can know how far
I've fallen, how bold you've become
In your lust for what is shunned,
The world against us,
In every way - class, culture, age, gender,
And it's wrong, they say, what we do,
But I don't care;
I still take you.
