She held her head high And when no one was watching she cried All those sad lonely nights She wondered why And questioned her reason To stay alive
She had to go through life Suffering behind a broken smile
She didn't know it But when she did She broke Her heart shattered Her world to ashes And she was left inhaling smoke And all she had to say Was why me
We all have burdens to carry on our shoulders But at least we don't Have to lug around boulders on our sleeves
All of life's trickery All her friends and their mockery It was time she took a stand But how could she stand tall Facing all the times you pushed her down Staring at her from the ground
all her pride and confidence Were on the shelf Shame and insecure was all she felt
Her whole life She hid behind a broken smile As everyone expected her to make theirs worth while
