I dream India,
southern provinces of inland sea,
hot, steamy, rich in life,
rich in spice,
I dream Kerala,
in the south west,
drown me,
in hornbill,
Indian elephant,
coconut tree,
I want to see,
Brahminy kites, Krishnapparunthu,
with you,
I want to breathe,
lime butterfly,
I want to taste,
wild cardamom and wild black pepper,
I want to sing with the laughing thrush,
be stung by a stinging catfish,
make love on a houseboat in the Vembanad wetlands,
and dream India,
with you,
on the back of a Royal Enfield Classic,
we'll ride together,
your arms around my waste,
your heart within my reach,
we'll ride the coast,
we'll ride the towns of
Pondicherry and Thanjavur,
we'll sleep in the arms of
Vishnu, Shiva, Brahma
we'll bathe in the waters of the Chaliyar river,
we'll eat kadala chick pea curry,
we'll marry under the eyes of
Hindu deities,
and together,
we will dream,
we will dream India.
