Malala holds a fire bean, A fire bean in her coloured hand Her coloured hand digs in Pakistan Pakistan is her mothers land

Malala wears a hijab, her body is banned Is banned from the eyes of God God demands Malala be silent Be silent , be uneducated, be lost

Be lost, stay at home, stay quiet Stay quiet in the eyes of God God gave Malala a mind to think To think and hands to dig

To dig up forbidden words, and dare to speak To speak forbidden words, and dare to dream To dream that one day she will find a fire bean A fire bean to ignite the injustice she has seen

Malala holds a fire bean, bravely Bravely she plants it, Plants it in her school playground Playground for girls and girls only

Girls should stay at home, the Taliban said The Taliban said lets shoot her in the head, The head holds the mind that holds the hand The hand that belongs to a girl and not a man

A man shoots Malala, kills her dead Dead as female rights, the Taliban said The Taliban said God is with us now Now something happened differently instead

Instead of dying, God Malala did bless Blessed her with another chance, Chance to grow tall among the weeds; Instead of Death, God gave her a much larger bean

A bean Malala now holds so proud So proud that God deemed her to be allowed Allowed to speak on, in peace In peace, she now sows her fire beans.

Malala holds a fire bean, You can hold one too if you choose. Or you can choose not to. It's called freedom of speech.
