(Old Man Walking Long Part 2)

A young boy , his father's song Did so forever haunt him, that everyday when He walked home, alone, this song he sung, To guide him.

The road was long, but his feet were young, so twice a day this path he treads, trying bravely Not to see all the graveyard trees around him, dying or dead.

A young crow stood on young legs, watching him, On a broken branch, morbidly calling his name; 'Bill ee' 'Bill ee' Cackling with foresight of this day, It's young beak older than the feathers, blacker than it's quick, young heart beats betray.

Billy skips on, school dazed, young feet in Young shoes, stepping carelessly through, An afternoon, towards home.

Hush little baby, don't say a word Pappa's gonna buy you a mockingbird

So innocently sung, carefree, wondering What papa has cooked for his supper

If that mockingbird don't sing Pappa's gonna buy you a diamond ring

A footstep. Stepped quietly, is unheard because of the resonance and beauty of the lullaby.

If that diamond ring turns brass Pappa's gonna buy you a lookin' glass

I love this verse. I have a looking glass my papa gave me, It shows me all the things outside my home, As though they were close to me, as though they were part of me, as though I was looking down on them, from above

If that lookin' glass gets broke Pappa's gonna buy you a billy goat

What was that? Beside me. Probably that silly baby crow, I don't know why he watches me so?

If that billy goat don't pull Pappa's gonna buy you a cart and bull

I'm scared. I need to get home now. Something is wrong. If I sing quickly, the road will not seem so long.

If that cart and bull turns over Pappa's gonna buy you a doggie named Rover

An owl hoots. In the afternoon? A wolf howls? Or growls? Is it a wolf hungry for Billy? Well, you won't catch me.

If that dog named Rover don't bark Pappa's gonna buy you a horse and....

Suddenly, where am I? I am not in the wood, I am not on the road, where am I? Papa, I'm so scared! I want to go home! There is a bright, white light, and I can hear voices cry, Singing, singing like angels, our lullaby;

If that horse and cart fall down You'll still be the sweetest little baby in town

Papa? Are you there? I can see you, but you cannot hear me.

Why are you crying? Why are there others here, from our family?

I will be home soon, I promise, please Wipe your tears away, so I can see your face.

Papa, are you in pain? I just want to tell you I love you again. I love you so much, and I miss you.

PAPA! Are you dying?

I am only a young boy, and this is your song papa.
