One bare man, one Bare woman, both
Standing, shivering Under an umbrella held
By their loving daughter And sun
Shines down on them And rain, and snow
And all they do is look at Each others eyes, and
Love each other so Deeply that they have no need
To feed, or drink, or speak, Or need, or lie to each other
Their daughter 'Time' asks 'Mummy, why do you weep?'
And, after millennia, her mummy Speaks, quietly;
'I am Earth, your father is Sun, And today we gave birth to a new
One - it was unplanned but not Unwanted, and now we have Man'
'Then why do you weep?' Daughter Demands, and her Mother Earth
Opens her hand to reveal a Tiny helpless ant, blindly digging
It's pincers into mother Earth's Ancient skin
'It hurts' Mother Earth cries, And Father Sun nods to agree
'I will kill it eventually' Daughter Time Hisses between her yellowed teeth
'No need' Mother Earth replies, 'Man will kill me, and then Man dies'
