Little birdie, in the rain, What goes on inside your brain? Eyes as black as midnight snow, Wings as strong as the wind that blows.
You perch upon my fence at night, Your song as strong as the moon is bright. Feathers black, your heart the blacker, Disrupter of peace, my sleep's attacker.
But by my soul you're pretty As you sing your soulful ditty. Upon my fence the whole night through, You act as though it belongs to you.
