If you cleared your mind completely, it would be like standing in a vast open room. You would surrounded by the confines of your consciousness, but there would be no movement.
No sound.
A new thought would come abruptly, a shout that reverberated off the walls and threatened to shatter the stained glass windows. Then the next thought would come... then the next, and the next... until all those intermingled echoes become nothing but a tangled and confusing mess.
And so it transpires that having an empty mind isn't such a good thing after all, and those thoughts you may want to get rid of might just be protecting you from further damage!
