The fearless knight charges on, Straight on through the castle gates, Caring not for his own skin, Or the danger that awaits.

A monstrous roar rings on out, Shaking ground and castle walls, And yet the knight pushes on, Running down these hallowed halls.

A damsel in distress is here, Atop the tower far above, Waiting for her rescuer, A handsome knight to fall in love.

But far within the shadowed depths, Rests a monster awaiting prey, Hoping for a foolish knight, With dreams of love in a single slay.

The dragon will have none of that, A treasure is what that girl is, And dragons do not share with knights, The girl is well and truly his.

The knight attacks with sword raised, The dragon laughs with hot flames, The damsel screams for he is slain, The knight will have no more claims.

It all ends in a plume of smoke, Hopes all dashed in a single burst, No one left to rescue her, Is the damsel forever cursed?

The dragon roars in victory, Laughing as the damsel cries, Do not send another knight, For that would be most unwise.

Back into the depths it goes, To rest upon its mighty throne, Atop a golden treasure trove, As the damsel sobs alone.
