Kids never pick on the class clown. They are seen as amusements. Jokes and sarcastic comments. That's all thats seen, not the kid underneath.
Usually it's these kids that have the most to hide, family problems or lack of intelligence.
Think of when you were at school, that one kid who made everybody laugh. Did the cool kids ever pick on them? No. Now think again, how much did you actually know about them? What was their story? Do you even know? Does anybody?
