My brother had organised a party to celebrate my safe return. More like my capture if you ask me. As friends of the family told me how horrible it must have been over the past eight years of my life and how brave I was for coming through it so strong, all I could do was nod and say thank you for coming as I poured double vodkas down my throat when nobody was looking. I wasn't the pretty dress, girly girl type despite the Vera Wang gown I was wearing.
Give me a loaded gun and I know exactly what to do, put me in a room dressed like a princess in the company of a bunch if people, most of whom I've never met before, I have no idea.
I hated not waking up in the morning next to Jack and I hated myself for remembering why. I was so stubborn, so convinced that I was the only one who could fix everything even though I had a whole team behind me.
I stood at the bar and tapped it gently. "Triple vodka on the rocks." I said upping my order. Doubles weren't going to cut it the way I was feeling. As the batman placed my glass on a napkin I read three little words that made me smile.
