The strangest thing happened to me today. I respected something my father said. We were driving down the highway after he had picked me up from my mom's house when we saw a middle-aged lady walking on the side of the road with a bicycle piled high with blanket and grocery bags. After she had disappeared behind us, he said, without turning to me, "Her entire life is probably on top of that bicycle, huh?"
