I tutor. Today I decided to challenge my GCSE group to argue the case of the 'experience machine'. A concept considered by Robert Nozick. In the 'experience machine' the participant is given the opportunity to devise their perfect life, all the sensations of life would feel as real as if they were happening.. Etc etc. I genuinely thought I would get mixed responses. After all these kids are 15/16 years old... The only person in that classroom who said they would climb into the tank without a moments hesitation was me. I'm sure that says much more about me than about them.
