Today's modern game of football doesn't get many players standing up to take the blame. But Stephen Warnock of Aston Villa came forward to blame himself and his team mates.
With Warnock coming out and defending Mcleish and blaming the players this needs to be done more. When players like Warnock don't play well why do they deserve to sit quiet and not publicly admit it's there fault. Villa have not played well all season and its down to the players. Mcleish has been hit with injuries to key players which is out of his hands. Mcleish has then used young players to fill the void left by injuries. These young players are inexperienced. Mcleish then has done well with what he has got at his disposal. With players getting paid huge amounts to play then isn't it time that when players don't play well that they don't get paid. After all once Mcleish has given his pep talk its down to the players to deliver the goods. All that training, experience and fight is what the players have. If they play poorly then they are to blame not the manager.
As a Villa fan I feel that Mcleish has taken too much flack for the problems at Villa park. I gave Mcleish till the end of the season to have a go at it. With games left to play this is unchanged. I want to see the players take the blame for their faults and not the manager. Its time for these players to come out of the shadows and face the music.
