This weekend saw Wolves become the first team to be relegated from the premier league. For the teams above them the fight to survive is hotting up. The biggest of the teams facing relegation is Aston Villa. Villa have been one of only a handful of clubs to have remained In the premier league since the first season. This for Villa would be a big shock of they were to play championship football next season. Many of the clubs fans have written their team off. However I think that theres some fight left in them yet. With Mcleish in charge there's some question over his ability to lead. They have however become somewhat of a drawing specialist side and added another draw against Sunderland yesterday. This is neither good or bad, but at least another point was gained in Villa's fight to survive.
Villa are showing signs of promise. The 0-0 draw yesterday, saw Mcleish field a young side mixed with experienced players. These young players are the reason why they will stay up as they are hungry for a fight. As long as Villa can win the next couple of games and hope the teams below them are kept at bay Villa will have survived.
