So England have signed a new manager. The new manager is English, which is promising. He has a decent managerial career where he's been dubbed Mr Average. He's managed clubs like Milan, Fulham, Liverpool and most recently West Bromwich Albion, but why is it that I'm left feeling worried about the FA's new appointment.

Well it stems from the fact that each England manager (the last few I mean), have signed big long term deals which is all well and good. But with the euro championships coming up is it wise to offer Hodgson a four deal worth millions when we might do terribly at the euro's. Taking a leaf out of England rugby, Lancaster was temporarily signed to see England threw the 6 nations. Lancaster performed well and was offered a permanent contract. So why has the FA signed Hodgson for so long. What the FA should have done is sign Hodgson till the end of the euro's. If he does well offer him a new deal. If he's performs crap, then England can look elsewhere.

I'm worried that this will be the case. I am an optimist, who believes that Hodgson can select a good team and some good tactics. But i'm worried if he gets it wrong England will have a hole to fill. Infact it will be a void and will require a JCB to fill it.
